San Cassiano Village & Alta Badia

A village as taken from the picture book: just relax and enjoy surrounded by the reign of Fanes

A wonderful mountain village, rich in traditions and surrounded by a fabulous mountain scenery

A place where hospitality and genuine care of the guests are highest priorities. Whether if you are looking for an active or relaxing holiday: San Cassiano offers unlimited possibilities in terms of leisure and sport activities. Enjoy a warm welcome and unforgettable stay. All year round.
San Cassiano is part of the municipality of Val Badia and delights its tourists with breathtaking panoramic views on the magic mountain of the Dolomites – Unesco World natural heritage. The village is quite small, but disposes of any comfort. It is a traditional mountain village characterized by a particular alpine charm – a place where you will enjoy peaceful atmosphere and relaxation. No wonder that several celebrities, artists as well as musicians and actors already made San Cassiano to their favourite holiday destination.

The village – which is located in a very sunny and peaceful position – is embraced by a wonderful mountain scenery: on 1,537 mt asl, at the foot of the Conturines, La Varella, Settsass and Lagazuoi.
During winter months San Cassiano turns into a true paradise for sportsmen: if you are a sports enthusiast you will definitely love the breathtaking ski-tours along the Sellarona and the Skicarosello Alta Badia and fabulous cross country skiing through fairytale landscapes. In summer instead it turns into an optimal starting point for hikes and walks.

Get ready for endless walks up to Armentarola, through Störes's green meadows or along theme paths through the larch woods or on the meditation path. Each one will surprise you with wonderful sunsets: while the sun is going down, the Dolomites romantically turns pink.
We also recommend you to have a trip to the Lagazuoi tunnels - a system of tunnels leading to two mine chambers of world war two -, to the well known Pic Ladin as well as to the Museum Ladin in San Cassiano.

The museum facility has been opened recently and houses a multitude of important collections telling about local history and the long-standing Ladin tradition. Visitors will also have the chance to have a look at the remains of the famous “Ursus Spelaeus”. These are the remains of the bear, which has been found in a cave on the Conturines together with different other fossils.

However, San Cassiano is also known for its culinary delights. You therefore shouldn’t miss the different tastings as well as the theme-evenings which were organized by the Fanes Group Restaurants: Restaurant La Sieia, the wine-cellar at the Dolomiti Wellness Hotel Fanes, the old barn Pre' de Costa by Armentarola and the Las Vegas Lodge on the Piz Sorega.

Exclusive locations where to spend unforgettable moments and get pampered culinary with traditional specialities. A fine selection of home-made dairy products enriches and complete the offer.
